The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda is accepting written comments on its proposed Annual Plan for the fiscal year starting July 1, 2018. The proposed plan is available for public review through Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Supporting documents may be viewed at the Housing Authority Office. Written comments on the Annual Plan will be accepted through 5pm, Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

A public hearing for the Board of Commissioners for the Housing Authority to hear comments from the public is anticipated to occur on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at 703 Atlantic Avenue, Alameda, CA. The date could change; therefore, a separate public notice will be issued for the date and time of the meeting when they are established.

The City of Alameda will submit its Community Development Block Grant FY 2016-17 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) to the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development on September 28, 2017. The CAPER provides financial and operational information on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) / HOME activities and reviews a broad range of other housing, community, and economic development activities for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The purpose of this notice is to make the CAPER report available for public comment.

The CAPER is available for public review in the City Clerk's office, the Housing Authority, and the Main Library from September 8 through September 22, 2017, and citizens are invited and encouraged to provide comments. If any person with an interest in participating in a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) / HOME program is a person with a disability as defined by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974 and requires an accommodation to participate or take interest, a request for accommodation may be made to Lisa Fitts, (510) 747-4349 or email Such request shall include a description of the accommodation sought, along with a statement of the impairment that necessitates the accommodation. Any request for accommodation shall be reviewed and a response provided within five business days of receipt of such request. The City of Alameda has a network of employees speaking some 45 languages who can act as interpreters for residents seeking information regarding CDBG/HOME programs.
