Housing Development

This is an overview of affordable housing opportunities in the Alameda “pipeline” of new development.  This page will be updated as additional projects are proposed or approved for development.

The City of Alameda and the Housing Authority work together with private and non-profit developers to expand housing choice of different types and in different neighborhoods throughout the City.   Income limits and eligibility criteria apply at all units.

       

NEW AFFORDABLE RENTAL PROPERTIES

A.     Alameda Landing – Stargell Commons

  • Developed by the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) and Resources for Community Development (RCD)
  • Location:   West of 5th Street and North of Willie Stargell Ave.  
  • Housing type: 32 rental units (includes one manager’s unit) affordable to very low and low-income households. The project is comprised of four one-bedroom, 18 two-bedroom, and ten three-bedroom units. 
  • Construction completed and leased up May 2017
  • Professionally managed by The John Stewart Company

B.    Del Monte at Start Harbor

  • Developed by the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA)
  • Location:   At the corner of Buena Vista Avene And Sherman Street
  • Housing type: 31 rental units (includes one manager’s unit) affordable to very low and low-income senior households. The project will be comprised of thirty one-bedroom and one two-bedroom manager’s unit
  • Construction commenced January 2017. Estimated completion: March 2018
  • Information about wait list and leasing will be available on the Housing Authority Website in December 2017

C.    2437 Eagle Avenue

  • Developed by the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA)
  • Location:   At the corner of Eagle Avenue and Everett Street
  • Housing type: 20 rental units (includes one manager’s unit) affordable to very low and low-income households. The project will include one, two and three-bedroom units plus community center and recreation areas
  • Construction commenced July 2017. Estimated completion: September 2018
  • Information about wait list and leasing will be available on the Housing Authority Website in 2018
